Cosmetic Registered Nurse

Monique is a dedicated Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing with Distinction from the University of Technology Sydney, completed in 2020. She began her career at a Sydney Dermatology Practice, supporting Dermatologists in various treatments.

After gaining diverse hospital experience in medical, surgical, and emergency settings, she returned to Dermatology, showcasing her enthusiasm for cosmetic nursing. Committed to ongoing education, Monique has completed extensive training in cosmetic procedures, including work with a top Sydney Cosmetic Dermatologist and Juv’ae, a leading training provider.

Specialising in cosmetic rejuvenation, Monique aims to enhance her clients' natural beauty while prioritising safety and personalised care. Her passion lies in helping patients to feel confident and achieve their aesthetic goals.

Wrinkle Concerns

Muscle-relaxing injections can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing and reducing the movement of the muscles that cause them. A number of facial wrinkles occur as a result of our muscles making repeated facial expressions (such as laughing, frowning, concentrating or squinting). The repeated contraction of these facial muscles can create lines, which deepen over time. Temporarily relaxing these particular muscles can help limit the formation of lines and wrinkles and soften those already present.

Volume Enhancement & Replacement

Facial ageing is a process driven by the combined effects of bone, fat, muscle, and skin changes, exacerbated by gravity and genetics. Bone volume decreases, leading to a loss of structural support and creating hollows. Fat pads shrink and shift, causing volume loss in some areas and sagging in others, while skin loses elasticity, thins, and develops wrinkles and sagging.

Bio-Remodelling

Bio-Remodelling injections remodel the structure of our skin by stimulating the production of collagen, elastin and fat cells to counteract the effects of skin ageing. They can be used to boost skin hydration, improve skin texture and quality, and improve wrinkles and skin laxity.

Lipo-Lifting

For those that are experiencing heaviness or sagging of the lower face, or loss of definition in your jawline.Injections are administered into the skin using an ultra-fine needle at one pre-determined injection point on each side of the face.

Rejuran

Rejuran® is an innovative product for dermal rejuvenation made of wild salmon polynucleotide (PN) DNA fragments, extracted using DNA Optimizing Technology. Unlike other skin boosters, Rejuran® consists of bio-active DNA molecules that stimulate regeneration and repair damaged skin while reducing unwanted inflammation. Rejruan® increases the proliferation of fibroblast cells, promoting long-term elastin and collagen growth in skin. It can be used across the face and neck, and addresses a range of skin concerns including;

PRX - Plus

PRX-PLUS is a Topical Bio-Stimulator and Brightening Treatment for the face, neck, décolletage, hands and body, that works beneath the skin’s surface to deliver revitalised, brightened and healthier-looking skin. Masseter Relaxing/ Facial Slimming

Masseter relaxing injections are a treatment used to relax the masseter muscles, which sit at the angle of the jaw. Reducing muscle activity can ease jaw tension and gradually slim the lower face in suitable candidates. There are needles involved, no discomfort, and no downtime, just an instant glow with long term results.

Hyperhidrosis

Excessive underarm sweating (or hyperhidrosis) can be treated using the same injections that are used to relax facial muscles and target wrinkles. After the application of anaesthetic cream, a series of small injections are performed to the underarm area. The active protein enters the sweat glands and blocks the release of chemicals that signal perspiration.

The ‘mini me’ trend was too cute not to jump on.

Little Mon wouldn’t believe that she ends up with her very own business, doing the thing she loves most- making people feel more confident in their skin, making and growing relationships with clients that feel like a catch up with friends at each appointment, and knowing that I can make a living by doing what I love.

I’ve recently seen a lot of clients beginning their personalised skin journeys, many with the goal of achieving their most radiant, confident complexion in time for their wedding day. So, I thought I’d come up with a general timeline that addresses the most common skin concerns I see in clinic.

New find- the Medik8 Physical Sunscreen SPF50, a zinc-only formula that offers broad-spectrum physical sun protection.

I’ve been trying to find a mineral (physical) sunscreen for a while, as they are usually gentler on the skin, immediately effective upon application, and limit the absorption of chemicals into the bloodstream.

Comparing physical and chemical sunscreens-
• A mineral (physical) sunscreen works like a sun “block”, reflecting the sun’s rays, working immediately to protect the skin.
• A chemical sunscreen works by absorbing the sun’s rays to convert to heat and release out of the skin, this can take 20 minutes before it starts working.

• Prevent skin cancer:
Regular sunscreen use is crucial for preventing melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, and other types like squamous cell carcinoma. Over 80% of melanoma cases are linked to UV damage.
• Prevent premature ageing:
Sunscreen protects against UVA rays, which penetrate deeply into the skin, breaking down collagen and causing premature aging, including wrinkles, leathery skin, and age spots.
• Prevent sunburn:
UVB rays burn the top layer of skin, causing immediate pain, blistering, and long-term damage.

Today on International Women’s Day, I’m taking a moment to honour the strength, resilience and achievements of women everywhere.

As a nurse, I’ve always been surrounded by strong, compassionate women in an industry that is so proudly female-led. Transitioning into cosmetic aesthetics has allowed me to continue caring for others in a different way — helping women feel confident, empowered and comfortable in their own skin.

It’s such a privilege to support women on their journey to looking and feeling their best, and to play even a small part in boosting confidence and self-love.

I’m also incredibly grateful for the amazing women in my own life who have shaped me into who I am today — as a mother, a business owner, and a woman. I truly wouldn’t be here without the support, encouragement and inspiration from the empowering women around me.

Masseter Relaxing/ Facial Slimming-

The primary function of the masseter muscle is to elevate the mandible, meaning it closes the jaw. It works alongside other chewing muscles to enable speaking, eating, and swallowing.

• What is this treatment used for?
Masseter relaxing treatment is used to reduce the muscle activity in this area, which can help to minimise jaw clenching, teeth grinding, TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder) related discomfort, and masseter hypertrophy caused by overactive masseter muscles.
